How's your LE running and how's the quality?
How's your LE running and how's the quality?
I don't think all the LE's are regulated to COSC- conditions as Chris promised.
Mine is running over 30 seconds too fast a day.
Furthermore the endlinks are very bad fitting.
I removed the bracelet because it was not assembled well at CW's, now I'm not even able to replace it.
The springbars cannot get into the holes of the case because the bad fitting of the endlinks.
The endlinks are not IPK while the bracelet is IPK, it looks very cheap that way.
The finish of the IPK is bad, you see the SS underneath the IPK at the edges of the links.
I don't think CW is already at the level of the brands he likes to compare the CW watches with.
Until so far my frustration, I'm a little disappointed about the quality and finish of the LE as you see.

Re: How's your LE running and how's the quality?
Mine is running a bit fast too, but not that much. I am not too worried at the moment as an automatic needs a month or so to settle down. If it is still running too fast I will take it to my local jeweller to have it regulated. I have the SS bracelet without the IPK and it is fine.
Try lying it crown up or crown down, it may make it run a little slower

First: did Chris promise it would be regulated to COSC? And second, the calibre in your LE is brand new, give it a few weeks!John wrote:I don't think all the LE's are regulated to COSC- conditions as Chris promised.

I dont recall COSC being mentioned although I did join (the forum) after the final designs were complete so I may have missed something. First I've heard of it though.
So many watches, so little time (and money!!!).

Re: How's your LE running and how's the quality?
Chris did state that he would personally regulate each watch before it left, but I can't remember to what specification, but it was pretty good. I am sure it is on the forum here somewhere. Mine was running +3 secs/day when I checked it. Since then, I have already messed with it so I will have to resync it to test it more.
As for the bracelet, I just got the steel, not the IPK, and my end links are fine. I haven't taken them off the case, so maybe I would have trouble getting them back on, but just looking at the watch, they are fine. In general, I am very pleased with the bracelet.
My only issue is with the lume, which is very poor in my opinion.

This is what Chris promised:
I will also set each watch at 55 % power to +/- 3 seconds per day individually before shipping.... obviously the end accuracy will depend on the amount of wear over time...but at least it will leave here as good as a chronometer
I know the calibre is brand new, but when it is regulated like promised I don't believe it would be running 30 seconds too fast a day only a few days later.

Maybe I missed this, but how did Chris communicate this?
Re: How's your LE running and how's the quality?
My LE is abot +3 sec. (not very meaningful, because I got the watch yesterday)
My thoughts about this topic:
- a "original" COSC regulation is useless, because the movement is regulated before assembled into the watch.
- a regulation by CW is a good approach. It is also useless (but not as useless as a COSC regulation) because a movement needs some days / weeks /month to "run in".
My suggestions:
- Guys, wear your LE for a few weeks and then observe its behaviour.
- If the regulation does not fulfill your requirements, go to your local watchmaker. He should be able to regulate the watch within a few minutes for little money.
My oppinion: We should be pleased with the LE an should not focus our attention on the regulation. It was hard for Chris to deliver before Christmas, maybe he has mad some little mistakes. But this should not be the reason for a bad ambience.
But if someone thinks that the LE does not fulfill his requirements, he should talk with Chris an send the watch back. Where are the problems?

@Nico: I fully agree with your comments.
@Daz: Yes, that is a very good tip! I believe both we as a forum and CW have learned a great deal during this first Forum LE! Although I am overall very pleased with the way things went, I am confident that a possible future LE will even be better arranged!!

Re: How's your LE running and how's the quality?
As I've said earlier in different posts, you shouldn't measure the accuracy of a brand new mechanical-calibre immediately, give it a few weeks and let it run in.
However, I talked with Chris about this subject and if by the end of January there are people with Kingfisher LE's that are not running accurately enough, they can be send back to CWL at CWL's cost, and Chris will regulate them again. He is even willing to capture a video of the regulation-process for us!!

Re: How's your LE running and how's the quality?
Chris mailed me he'll let me sent the LE back and regulate it again.
He can take look at the other issues also.
I'm sure he will make me happy again with the LE.
It wasn't the meaning of letting CW down, but i've waited so long for the KF and I was alittle disappointed when it arrived.
To be continued.............
