I'm sure you have lots of interesting stuff to say. Content doesn't necessarily have to revolve around watches. There is a regular formula discussion thread for example.jupera2005 wrote:In my case I try to participate, but as I only have one CW watch I don't have much interesting things to say. Absolutely, CW ownership is a secondary concern!!!DISJT wrote:I'm sure you have lots of interesting stuff to say. Content doesn't necessarily have to revolve around watches. Just get stuck in and enjoy. All are welcome.
That is part of what I love about this place... The randomness.
There are some fabulous collections on her that I would love to own - some worth a fortune, many not. It isn't about the money, but the story and the journey.

Re: Reasons there is so little content generated?
I know when I took the plunge and joined, the response to my first post in the Member Introductions by other senior members was cordial and I was invited to share photos of my small modest collection as well as a photos of a vintage watch I had just sold.
There are other non CW threads that can be explored as well, other brands etc.
BTW like you I only have one CW, what watches do you have in your collection and which CW did you purchase?
Cheers, Mike.

Re: Reasons there is so little content generated?
I must admit I'm gobsmacked by that figure. That's 137 posts a day, it doesn't seem anywhere close to that figure on a day to day basis. I'd of said it was nearer 20, in my mind, especially if you took out the photos of CWOTD and NCWOTD.hughesyn wrote:I'm not sure it's valid to claim there is very little content generated.
Given that CW is a small company selling under 20,000 units per year, I would say a forum with half a million posts in 10 years is quite impressive.
.
I'm also equally surprised they're selling 54 watches a day considering how long they appear to take to shift limited edition runs.

Sorry to sound ignorant but what is gobsmacked ? It isn't something we hear on our side of the pond.
Thanks.

Maybe some of those 6450 people just like reading and do not want to join in? I am on a football forum since 2009 and I visit it daily, I have not joined in once, I just prefer to read through everyone's comments than contributing.DISJT wrote:Cheers for this Scooter, pretty much answers the question except for the 6500 people who appear to of joined for no reason what so ever.scooter wrote:When I joined in November 2011 there were less than 3000 members. Re: Re:
There would be no need to join. You could read all the content without joining. (except the sales posts but they still can't access them after joining if they don't reach 30 posts)matski171 wrote:Maybe some of those 6450 people just like reading and do not want to join in? Thanks for setting me straight, we Canadians have other expressions that have the same basic meaning although some of ours can be rather crude like this gem: Whale Oil Beef Hooked........say it real fast.......you'll get the drift.

Re: Reasons there is so little content generated?
My bad, I thought you needed to join to see the contents. I haven't got a clue why they joined then, maybe they had the buzz to start of with and then thought to themselves this hobby is going to be expensive.

Re: Reasons there is so little content generated?
I think this has been discussed elsewhere.
When I first joined (a little over a year ago), I avidly read everything.
Now, there are quite a number of threads I don’t even consider anymore. I even used to post in them, but now just pass them by.
