Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

Closer shot of the Fabre Leuba I posted in NCWOTD. At 38mm and very square it's quite sizeable on the wrist, although the bracelet does slim down considerably (the clasp is 18mm) down from 33mm at the case. The bracelet is quite light though as it's the classic 70's NSA style. I bought it NOS and I've only worn it a couple of times since as is evidenced by the unmarked case and the equally unmarked blue waxy stuff on the case back. The 36k bpm movement does make for a superbly smooth second hand movement too.

Thanks Bernie. I haven't formally timed it, but I set the time fairly accurately yesterday, when I checked it this morning it seemed pretty much spot on, so I'd say it somewhere in the region of +/- 15spd, but don't hold me to that. I probably should test it accurately, but it's going nowhere soon...

If find it very attractive if a bit cool. Would have to see it on, but the face is handsome as can be nested in that rather brutal case. Are the hands somewhat degenerated, or is that reflection and shadow?

A bit of both I think. The lume strip in the centre of the hands has deteriorated, but the hands are not too bad, although the outer sections nearest the lume are worse.

If you like the dial, this one may also appeal... Similar vintage, similar dial size, in a less massive and more curvaceous case.

I see. Enough deterioration to show it has been around, but not enough to look bad. Liking it more and more.

Now let me see. The official languages of Switzerland are German, French and Italian. English? Nope.

Haha, no. I've owned some other Phenixes in the past, it was a sub-brand of Revue; so it's not a dodgy one, like the Omgea and Rolux watches found in car boot sales in China...

   Oh well, the French don't know how to spell Phoenix, but then neither do I.

I love "Omgea."

Do you know the vintage of the Phénix?

Edit: I see you wrote '70s. About what I would have guessed.

I've only been able to determine it's from 1970-1973.
