Number 4 - C70 British Racing Green

Post by MaDaSp »

Well I now have 4, not that I need an excuse but let's call this one a late birthday present to myself. :D

Had it's first outing yesterday, very fitting for the occasion I thought, the Aston Martin Centenary event in Kensington Gardens. 8)

And some more pictures I did this morning.

Looks like you had a great time and some good weather. I took my DBR1 when I went to drive a DB9 a couple of moths ago for a track day, it seemed appropriate.
How many cars were there? Any more pics?

Yes it was great to see 100 years of Aston Martin's history all in one place and it was completely free, well apart from the Park Privé section which contained the DBR1 and other Le Mans cars, you did get a free tea/coffee and a glass of champagne though if you were willing to pay £50 to get in . I gave that a miss and just wandered around the perimeter and peered in :). There were 150 cars on display and more in the car park but you could only access that if you had a car in there :(.

I've posted a link to my Flickr gallery in the Offtopic section.

Did you enjoy the DB9 experience?

Yes a lovely time. Very much more of a gt than a sports car. It does weigh nearly 2 tonne. You can reall feel that mass under heavy breaking, 1st time with a flappy paddle gearbox the delay in changes made me wish for a manual. If it were a dsg or such like it would have been better

I drive these on road and track quite regularly and I personally think that the paddle shift gear change is pretty quick and smooth. Its much less agressive that the gear change in cars like the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo.

It is indeed more of a GT than it is supercar, and it is a little out of its comfort zone on the track, however they are still pretty awesome cars and most people love them...! :D

It was a lovely place to be and I suppose had i not been on a track with lambo's and fezza's then I may not have been so aware.

I have just received a C70BRG on a bracelet for my anniversary - really like the look of the dial (should go well with the C7 MkI 1 & 2).
