Thanks for the compliment on Row 92 Nick. Much appreciated.

Strap is a 'freebie' 5-ring Zulu, modified to 3-ring, that Gary popped in the box for me. The slightly mottled, burnt orange colour is fab_u_lous.

I've packed the original Tropic rubber strap away, to keep it in good condition, and will seek out an alternative.

Meanwhile, your new Glycine is pretty special too. I like the plain steel bezel and, looking at it, the crown @ 4 o'clock looks to be a clamp for the 24 hr ring; rather nifty.

Guy

Cheers Guy.

That burnt orange looks like it was made for it. The Dan Henry are a watch that I would certainly like to take a look at and with the 44mm case, one that I must now do so!

On the Glycine... Well spotted. It certainly is a clamp for the 24hr bezel that spins freely. A bezel solution that I have not seen before, but rather neat nonetheless. If you slightly unwind it, you can use it as a ratchet mechanism on the bezel "flutes" or unwind it a bit more, and you can spin away.

I just couldn't help myself, and seem to have a "thing" for GMTs at the moment. I now seem to have gathered a few without realising it.

That's a nice GMT and 1 that I'll try on as I'd like a GMT.
But is there a specific reason why the 24hour numerics are on the bezel and also inside the dial?
Shouldn't 1 or the other be the normal 1-12?

24 hour numerals on the bezel are a normal spec on a GMT, to give the ability to work out a 3rd time.

24 hours on the dial for this model are, I assume, a foible to make reading the time from the GMT hand easier; as you naturally know the hours on a 12 hour scale.

HOWEVER, on some watches, and possibly this one as it is named a 'worldtimer', it may be that the hour hand rotates only once within 24 hours (at least that what it does on the CWL C9 Worldtimer).

Guy
Spot on Guy. On this one it is just to make reading the GMT time easier.

There is also apparently a non GMT, 3 hand version that has a 24hr movement, so options aplenty!

Omega boutique to pick up the watch after a 9 month wait. Work just round the corner

Poor lighting, it's blue, with a hint of green.

I knew that. Just didn't want to imply it was a bad photo. 8)

Maybe I should bury this in the back yard and dig it up in a few months just to see what sort of patina develops. :)

I have no doubt it's only the first of many. Very nice! I'm a little envious perhaps, but I think that's fabulous.
