No, you're going to have to wear it next time you take the Heinkel HE111 bomber out for a spin.

Re: Been shopping!
The way I view my brass/bronze watches is quite different to every other one I own. To me, they make the perfect watch to wear when the going might get a bit tough. A few scrapes or knocks would not bother me with these, as they seem to be made for it. Any bright marks just patina over again with the passage of time. Almost self-healing in a way Mind you, I still treat them carefully, as I’m simply in the habit of doing that, but the statement still stands...Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:In a way I've got two options;-
1. Unwrap it later tomorrow morning, take photos in good light and start a record of how the patina develops on the bronze, taking care when I wear it or
2. Unwrap it tonight and wear it first thing in the morning, treating it as a watch to be worn; with any consequential dings.

Re: Been shopping!
@gaf1958 - thanks for your thoughts Gary.
Guess I'm leaning along the same lines, although I've still not unwrapped it yet, plus I've now got the distraction of another incoming that's just been delivered by the Postie.

Re: Been shopping!
Tuna coming later; in a couple of weeks. Aiming to get one from Sue's favourite jeweller.
Today's arrival is a Draken Tugela from @addi654. A watch I had my eye on and it helps him restock his watchfund.

Re: Been shopping!
Sold mine in 2016, here's a pic.
Nice watch but not the best at retaining charge imho - really needs to be worn daily. Make sure if you can you don't get new old stock, otherwise it may need a new capacitor.
Serial number on the back starts with 6 digits and gives a good idea of age - 1st digit is the year of production, 2nd is the month (1-9, then O (Oct), N (Nov) & D Dec).

Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Thanks for the serial number info.
Jeweller involved is Wilde in Hitchin. Small independent with selection of designer rings, earrings etc.
Watch wise they have Olivia Burton for the Ladies and Seiko, Junkers and Hugo Boss for the Gents. Only a small selection with no more than a dozen Seiko on display.
Sue and I would visit every couple of weeks over the winter, with Sue buying some nice rings. The prime display Seiko was the SUN019J, which I really fancied but never mentioned.
Hence a sentimental reason for buying.

Certainly a large beast......but needs to be worn to retain a decent charge in my experience.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Think it's the SUN019J. Kinetic, GMT 48mm, double case.neilj568 wrote:Which Tuna are you getting?

Certainly my preferred style of watch, generally simple and clear dial. Next up Diver and I don't really own a dress watch.
