PS. I'm praying after this that it doesn't turn out looking like a saucer on my wrist.
Now that would be heartbreaking

Update ...

The search has been going on, albeit in the background for fear of looking like a numpty.
Some may recall I sounded dead set on the Hamilton Navy Pioneer and started shopping for a deal, BUT ... for the first purchase in a while, I sat back and gave it REAL, further consideration

It's a great looking watch and the white had my vote in the end, but there was something stopping me from going ahead and I still can't put my finger on what it was :?

Moving on ... I'd previously commented how I'd started being drawn to aviation/military watches (as well as the Hamilton :D )
I started looking at 38-40mm pilot watches and came across the 40mm Alpina Startimer Sunstar.
A little apprehensive at first as 40mm diameter and ~48mm lug-to-lug are big chunks of ticking metal in my book.

Anyway, cutting to the chase. I ordered and here it is ...

Congratulations. Classy. I love the red counterweight. A welcome dash of colour for that added flair and panache. Enjoy.

Great choice in the end!

Normally the last-minute change of directions work out perfectly!

Fits in nicely with its new siblings.

Top notch purchase.

Classic Flieger style which blends in well with the rest of your collection and size, bearing in mind a Flieger is entitled to be slightly on the big side, looks totally spot on for you.

Trust you will enjoy it.

Thanks gents.

Wear has been restricted because the OEM strap is a tad too long for me, so I'm going to have to search for alternatives.

I do have a few NATOs available what I could pop on for the time being
