Buy some. Sell some. Keep some.

And finally nail the silver/white dialled chronograph slot in my collection (other than the C3 FLE). This may require a non-trivial number of existing watches to be sold, depending on which watch I go for!

I intend to stop buying watches and I intend to reduce the overall numbers.

Was that said with tongue in cheek Richard?

I thought you already had maybe the best collection of tasteful watches then you bought the GS on a trip ! Will you be able to control that urge ?

I intend to try... although, I must admit to finding another bargain today (far less money than the GS), so I will consolidate my beaters when I get home. I intend to auction one for Kevin's hospice and I'll probably sell one or two others.

I have my collection down to 10 now, all in the style that I want the collection to ultimately look like. Well, 10 plus a G-Shock for working in the rescue kennels, gym etc.. (I dont count this one or my 2 grandads watches that I inherited). Out of those 10, 5 are definite keepers for various reasons. The first plan for next year is to replace the cheap and nasty Alpha PO Orange homage which I bought to see how much wrist time it would get before shelling out on the Omega. I’m also intrigued by the rumoured new CW GMT. Ive spent a lot of time ‘moulding’ the collection to how I want it, and virtually know what wants changing for what to get where I want it to be eventually. It could take a good few years!! So, the only 2 potential changes for 2018 will be the Alpha being thrown in the bin and replacing, and maybe the C60 GMT sold and replaced with the rumoured new 41mm depending if I like it or not. Having said all that, things don’t normally go to plan!

I have a few purchases that have either just arrived, or are scheduled by the end if the year. As for next year, apart from another Magrette due in Jan/Feb, I'm planning to cut back on purchases and maybe consolidate a few more out of my collection. There will undoubtedly be a few "relatively" smaller purchases; it would be unlike me to not buy a few, but cutting back a bit would be my goal... hopefully single digits for the year. If I can, six or under.

Focus is only to add watches that are different/unique from what I already have. More variations of the same great/good ones are nice, but there comes a point that it becomes more the "rush" of adding/buying rather than wearing and enjoying. I can see myself adding a couple to the collection next year but I'm not going to rush into anything - can only spend my money once. No impulse buying at check-out! Can't be too bothered chasing all these (CW NN and other brands) sales. A good deal on something that I honestly speaking not really need, does not make it good logic. Best wishes for 2018 to all the forum members!

I don't have many plans for the new year I've been making an effort to come on here a little less, lust after watches a little less and put some money aside each month for a long term purchase. So far it worked well but for 2018 I'm going to try to

-Try a few watches on at AD's to see how they fit and feel
-Resist buying a no date cwc g10
-Only keep 6 watches in the box (I'm at 6 but ones a Timex that I occasionally try and convince myself doesn't count)
-Hunt around on the internet less

Looking after my current collection is no. 1 priority.
They could do with a nicer roof over their head, so I'll be on the lookout for a nice good quality watchbox.

I have my eye on a couple of nice new straps to freshen/liven things up.

I'm also debating whether to send my Orient Star back to Japan for servicing and the GS back to the zuratsu ninjas for some TLC.

Finally, I'll be starting a fund for one more purchase, but am undecided on what it'll be at present. So I'll just keep saving and see which way the wind blows me.

*** edit - and I've just realised that I went to town with the word "nice".

I intend to stop buying watches completely and sell all of my watches except for one.
