It might have originally - this was bought off the bay and came with an aftermarket rubber strap which was a bit stiff and not nice to wear so I put it on the NATO.

It was actually not working correctly and that was reflected in the price I paid so I sent it to Seiko and it was repaired and WR tested and it's been working flawlessly since.

I have the SSC017. Which originally came on a bracelet . The end links are not very good IMO , very flimsy . So I put it on a NATO , might try a rubber strap though soon . I was just asking , to see what your thoughts were on the bracelet .

I tend to favour NATO over a bracelet but the stock rubber strap on the PADI GMT is very comfortable so it has stayed on.

Thanks Bernie, i'd love to take credit but the truth is I saw the same watch on pintrest, on a brown leather strap, and like it so much I immediately ordered one. Spent weeks trying to match the strap id seen but couldnt find it. Managed to pick up some straps in the sale tho.

That's what I like about threads like this , others use straps and bracelets on their watches , you wouldn't think about using normally . Its a great way to get ideas for straps for your own watches from others . :)

It used to have an olive green ceramic(ish) bezel fitted to it Bernie. I replaced that bezel with the purple one a couple of weeks ago. Internally, it's running a 7548 movement with the 6309 dial re-fitted, making it a grab 'n go turtle. The original 6309 movement was packed away safely many, many years ago.

I have had by far more Seikos than any other brand and this is my current collection. I say current but with the possible exception of the Alpinist all these are keepers.
From the left the first two were my dad’s which I inherited. I have very little love for the looks of the Arctura anymore but it was the first expensive watch my wife bought me so it will always stay. I love the adaptability of the Alpinist and the GS is simply stunning. From the ones that got away I loved the Cocktail Time and a bright red S-Wave.
A couple of things that were interesting for me when I got them all out this morning were;
* They are all on bracelets which is not common at all for me.
* The old quartz has stopped ‘again’
* I just realised that I have never had a Seiko Diver ?

At the risk of hijacking this excellent thread, does anyone recommend where I can get my dad’s old auto serviced please?

^^^^ It might be worth giving Seiko UK a call. I'm sure I read somewhere about someone saying that their service and repair costs were reasonable. At least by asking you'll have a benchmark to work from.
Edit: here's a link to their prices from their website. http://misc.seiko.co.uk/PublicPriceList ... 201707.pdf

From some experience a few years back IIRC Seiko UK only handle watches up to about 10 years old, but they happily recommended an independent to deal with older watches.
