10th Anniversary Magrette MPP

Post by gaf1958 »

The classic 44mm MPP but now in titanium.

I think I'm going to order one. The only reason I sold my MPP was the concentration of weight at the top of my wrist regardless of bracelet or strap. Titanium would solve that!

Correction... have ordered. I was looking at the Magrette page only yesterday and bemoaning (to myself, as no-one else will listen) that there were no new model MPPs. Voila! Look what happened. I usually sit on a purchase like this overnight, but given yesterdays actions I decided this was serendipitous. It'll go nicely with my Magrette Waterman (which by pure chance I happened to put on after lunch today!).

I really like this, if it came on a bracelet I would have ordered one instantly!

Very nice - and good value too!

Only thing putting me off is the 53mm LTL and 24mm lugs. That's a beast of a watch and bigger than I like.

Cracking!

@gaf1958 - in your experience Gary, will there be a saving on the eventual RRP by using the pre-order?

Thanks; appreciate the info.

Looks like their (the EU Distributor) price takes care of VAT that will be payable if ordering direct.

Mind you they want a significantly larger deposit. (250Euro vs. $200). :?

Obviously it's already been answered, but they're typically cheaper on preorder than afterward.

IMO, titanium covers a lot of sins with size. :)

In truth, it was not the size / dimensions that made me sell mine, it was the weight. The stainless ones are heavy buggers , even more so with the bracelet, but on leather or rubber I found it quite top heavy, a little unbalanced.

As to size, I found it to be quite good, even though it was bigger than most of the watches I usually wear. I will say that Magrette make a very nice watch though.

If I might add,the strap is perfectly proportioned to the case IMO.

Thanks Gary; useful info.

Additionally, my 'gut' is telling me that it will be cheaper to buy direct; will do some sums to check.
.
.
.
.
Buying direct @ $685 + $35 shipping = $720 @ 1.29 USD/GBP = £555.00 plus 20% VAT and £9 RM handling fee = £675

Buying from Forasec.com (EU AD) @ €695 inc VAT, or equivalent @ 1.08 EUR/GBP = £640

My 'gut' is correct.

Ooh that's lovely, but having owned the same model of MPP twice, I will resist this time. 44mm on 24mm straps felt like man costume jewellery on occasions.
