Smartphone apps for the watch enthusiast

Post by nordwulf »

I have a few apps on my iPhone that I use quite often. I am curious if there are any others?

Watch Tracker - $4.99
Watch Tracker is an app for tracking the accuracy of a wristwatch.

LEPSI - Watch Magnetism - Free
This app is aimed to mechanical watch lovers who'd like to know if their watches are magnetized or not.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lepsi-w ... 1080183882

Emerald Time - Free
Emerald Time uses Network Time Protocol to display the current time of day as defined by the international standard atomic clocks. Its accuracy is limited only by network latency and is usually accurate to less than +/-100 milliseconds.

Thanks for highlighting these apps. I use watch tuner light and am now just downloading the Lepsi app and will have a looksie. I have previously downloaded the WatchTracker app but should really read the instructions. Watch Tuner Light suits people who don't RTFM.

Ouch, currently priced at £19.99 on App Store. Reviews aren't that favourable.

I must be a dinosaur. I have a RC alarm (good Catholic clock  ) that is always spot on. I use this to check or set the mechanicals, or I use time.is on iPhone or iPad if I'm away.

Checking accuracy? If I want to do that I will compare after 24h using the Papal alarm.

About once a month I use the pips to set the car clock when I'm driving to work at 7am.

Crap, I wish I hadn't tried this. I cannot get back to UK App Store because I have a credit balance on my Apple ID

As an app I use WatchCheck, free and quite comprehensive. For time setting I use http://time.is it's a world clock running off Internet time sources so accurate.
