I'd agree with this - now if only a watch manufacturer would develop a complication that could display day, date and the owner's name - that would have me covered in most senior moments!
Time flies whether you're having fun or not. The choice is yours.

Yes I am a CW fanboy but the Monta seems a lot of money for what it is.
Even more so the Trident Day date COSC now you have £100 off code ;)

Despite the logo being in the wrong place, the Trident wins for me. Wave dial, interesting hands, COSC - and the 60-day returns option means he can always send it back if he doesn't like it.

As I mentioned, my friend is most definitely leaning towards the Trident Pro COSC 600. he keeps trying mine on.

As luck would have it, this months "Red Bar" GTG has as the special guest. The Monta/Everest brands will be there to officially show off their new line of watches. I have invited my friend so he can try see them first hand and make a decision.

I will update as this will get me a good look at the Monta myself.

Oceanking is 3500$! I also checked Monta webpage and they compare Eterna 3909A in their 3,500$ watch to base ETA 2824?
"The accuracy of the Monta Oceanking's watch movement, the Eterna 3909A is 200% more accurate than it's next closest competitor." Riiiight. Compare yourself to MT-5612 from Tudor or Powermatic 80 COSC from Swatch Group.

For some reason the Monta/Everest brands were unable to show at last nights GTG, but my friend had a grand time getting introduced to many models of watches (especially vintage( that he had never seen or heard of.

The bottom line is that her spoke with several members about the Ocean King and the CW C60 COSC and has agreed that the C60 is his best choice by far.

A little late on the uptick here, KIp, but was that the ETA day date COSC or SH21 COSC?

He has decided to get the Trident Pro COSC 600. He should be ordering soon as he is awaiting a tax refund.

Not to be pedantic, but I am confused by the terminology. According to the website:
  • C 60 Trident Pro 600 is the standard ETA/Sellita powered series.

C60 Trident Day Date COSC is the certified ETA 2836.

C60 Trident COSC 600 is the SH21 movement.
There was a C 60 Trident Pro COSC 600 a while back, but I have not seen it on the current CW website. All these numbers and letters make my eyes spin.

There are 2 cosc options in the trident.

Day/date and date.

As the SH21 does not currently have day date function, it is used for the COSC date only and they use ETA 2836 for the day/date version!

Thanks for the confirmation, smegwina. So a Trident Pro COSC 600 is which model?
