Bracelets are actually quite good.

Post by atnits »

For the last squillion years I haven't liked bracelets. All my watches come straight off them and on to leather or something. Much more comfy.

Then last week I popped my Seamaster back onto its bracelet in order to take some snowy photos:

And strangely the watch has stayed on the bracelet - and on my wrist - ever since. I've suddenly realised that it actually doesn't feel too bad. And it looks really good.

Maybe it's the quality of the bracelet (comfy, well-made, solid end links) but I could be about to become a convert.

I've got the same bracelet on an SMP GMT from the same era.
It's a great bracelet.

I like bracelets in general, but the Seamaster 'Beads of Rice' bracelet is certainly my most comfortable. I think the SMP is my only watch that has never been off the bracelet.

Likewise, my full size SMP always lives on the equivalent "Bond" bracelet. It's literally the most comfortable watch & bracelet combination I own...

I just started wearing the bracelet 2 days ago and it is very comfortable and attractive , so much so that I have reconsidered selling the watch.

That also has to be the most legible watch ever made.

I prefer the sword hands to the later ones.

Regarding the OP's 120, that looks nice too.
I've always thought the 120 is an underrated.

It also has the best lume of any watch I've ever owned, bar none, and I've had a few with great lume.

I was never a bracelet fan, but I have got used to it with the Speedy. I tried it on a leather strap but soon changed back to the bracelet and have kept it that way ever since.

A couple of weeks later, and I'm still loving the bracelet thing. All I've been wearing is my Seamaster and my Breitling Colt, both on their bracelets.

Ditto, I have not changed out the CW white/black since I put it on bracelet......what a difference the bracelet makes.

I have an incoming Oris BC3 on a leather strap and I am now wishing I had ordered it on a bracelet instead.

I might have to look for a good aftermarket bracelet now.

Cheers, Mike.
