Fancied trying a black strap on my GS Diver...
Found a nice new 'kevlar' strap in my spares box...
Though it looked ok...
Even on the wrist (it looks tight because the strap is new and a bit stiff)...
But the lug gaps look a bit daft...
Back to square one then...

Put it back on the bracelet. Stand up. Walk away...slowly.

Something with fitted ends would look best.
How about a Hirsch Leonardo?
22mm lugs? Let me send you one of my Elliot Brown straps, to see how they shape up.

it's a really fine strap - embrace the gap!!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Let me think about that...Scrogg wrote:Hopefully a traumatic enough experience to make you want to sell the watch to me
No.
Yep. Done that.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote:Put it back on the bracelet. Stand up. Walk away...slowly.
Yes, I have a couple of Hirsch Leonardo in the box. I have to be in the right mood to try fitting those, because (in my experience) they are an absolute b*gger to get right - and it always takes several attempts.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Something with fitted ends would look best.

As for the EB straps, thanks for the kind offer. Do you have any in "normal" colour?

Re: Mind the Gap!
A straight spring bar would reduce the gap quite a bit. The curved bars are the biggest issue with the strap. It's a good looking strap on that watch, give it another go.

Re: Mind the Gap!
I did stick a straight bar in it, but the strap is very curved (it's designed that way for a Bremont), so the straight bar didn't really fit well. I have another similar strap with straight ends that I may try.Lavaine wrote:A straight spring bar would reduce the gap quite a bit. The curved bars are the biggest issue with the strap. However, the spring bar holes are set very low in the GS case, so I suspect I'd need a fitted strap to make it look reasonable.
Still, half the fun is in the experimentation.

Re: Mind the Gap!
@Downer - normal colours? You mean lime green or orange?
Seriously, I have blue or dark grey rubber (not silicone) or oxblood, pebbled black and pebbled back with beige stitching leather.
Take your pick.

Re: Mind the Gap!
Crikey Guy, I reckon you have a bigger stock than EB!
Let me try a couple of alternatives and if I can't find a solution I'll be in touch. Thanks again for the kind offer.

Re: Mind the Gap!
It is a fine strap but I'd struggle with the gap. I have my Trident on a leather NATO that I cut down to remove the extra piece and it has convinced me to look out for something similar but in a waterproof material.
