CW rubber touch waterproof leather straps

Post by stefs »

Thinking about one for my c11 extreme.
Has anybody seen or tried one yet? Particularly interested in softness and comfort.

Thanks

I had 2 rubber touch leather 22 mm. strap made for new Titanium C60 pro 600. I put the first on my C11 Extreme.
Well, after 3-4 weeks the strap (black sewing) became distressed as it was 1 year or more old.
It's waterproof, ok, but this is the only good quality. Not a good sensation, leather strap after time became in some way "glam", fascinating. This seems only a bad conditions strap.
The second rubber touch strap, in brand new condition, was sold!
In these days I got a new C60 Trident titanium with my third rubber touch strap... I immediate take off from watch and I'm thinking to sell it in the forum to get funds for a titanium bracelet!
This is an opinion based on my experience...

Similar strap, but by other brand (such as Steinhart) are much more quality rubber touch leather strap, more resistance, more durability. Price? About 25 £ (30 euro). Less than an half of CW rubber touch strap. :silent:

Upon request I can post a picture of strap...

For what it's worth, the slightly rubber-touch "waterproof" leather strap that came with my Damasko (which I understand was made by Di-Modell) hasn't stood up that well either. I swam twice in it, and the plasticky/silicone-like film at the back of the strap is slightly peeling off at the buckle end.

Blimey! I am surprised to hear this. Maybe I will give that up and go for a rubber strap after all but I want something a bit softer than the cw ones so maybe a hirsch pure??
Any recommendations on this score?

Trouble is I really like to have a buckle to match the watch so I need to try and get hold of a cw buckle somehow

thanks for all advise as always

I suggested them because you said you wanted to use a CW buckle, and the C11 buckle pin is flattish, similar to that in isofrane.

Best option from Hirsch will be one of their 'perfomance' straps e.g. Robby, Ayrton, Tiger to which you can fit a CWL sports buckle.

I've recently picked up a brown Paul which has a 'Gator pattern for my Damasko, which looks good, but needs a buckle with pin not blade.

Of course an Orange Isofrane will not go too well with the green of the Extreme (or maybe it will) but you could do a lot worse than get an Isofrane style strap from Orbris Morgan for a fraction of the price, and in a green to match;-

As mentioned above the isofrane wont quite work for me. I have ordered a cw buckle from Wera and will probably try the pure and maybe swap the blade for a wide pin which has sort of worked in the past. Thanks for the offer of trying the orange isofrane though...appreciated
