Dublin trip.

Post by magicman »

Hello there

Tomorrow I'm off to Dublin, usually the Chaps do a sunshine golf trip, but this year to celebrate my friends 50th, we're off to Dublin.
We are playing golf at Port Marnock tomorrow, so I shall be praying for 1 good tee shot at the 1st, then i can relax and enjoy one of golfs best courses.
Friday is lady's day at Leopardstown races, so another fun packed day is guaranteed.
We are staying near Temple Bar, I've heard it's the place to be, so Saturday will give us a chance to explore the local area, and find a venue to watch the Champions league final.
This should be a trip to (try to) remember forever.

Regards Steve

I am hoping you stripe that first tee shot. Regardless, enjoy and take lots of photos.

The first shot off the first tee is always the most traumatic

Couldn’t agree more.

I played in an event where there were 4 brand new cars just off to the right of the first tee. About 30 yards away.

Certainly made me concentrate on not letting my slice come into play :D

Sadly, I didn’t win the car on the hole-in-one par 3. Missed the green entirely :(

sounds like a wonderful trip - even for someone who tried golf once and never again! enjoy it - and share pics when you get back :D
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Wow, thanks for that.
I can't see how any city could beat Dublin for a Fat boys golf/Drinking trip.
After our days golf at the amazing Port marnock, we settlled in the Temple Bar area for some serious drinking.
We did do the trip to the races at Leopardstown, and upset a few of the bookies with some big winners.
Back in the local pubs and bars is where I did my best work, what a place! No wonder so many Americans make the long trip over, for Stag and Hen parties.
I'm a bit groggy currently so it's a bit of a blur, but i can't rate the place any less than 10/10.
The people were beyond nice, and even after the sad football result, there wasn't a bad atmosphere at all.
The service with a smile slogan was surely written for Dublin. Even in the busiest of bars and restaurants, nothing was too much trouble.
Where next to top that ? Edinburgh during the Festivall or Liverpool during the Grand national, have been suggested.
