Which watch gets most attention

Post by Ian Mc »

Which watch in your collection gets most attention and comments from people?
For me it's my home build bronze effort. People seem to like the colour combinations.

A generic answer from me, whilst I try and think if I ever receive comment about any specific watches -

It is fair to say that any watch I wear on a NATO strap tends to elicit a comment from my wife. Usually something along the lines of "that looks cheap and scruffy", as she prefers watches worn on a bracelet.

Unless they're part of the small number of watch nerds who inhabit forums like this, people really don't notice your watch. People notice your shirt, haircut or maybe even your shoes, but watches? Very rarely, vanishingly close to never...

I can see why people noticed Ian's Bronze, if it's people he knew. Producing it was a fantastic achievement.

But other than my wife noticing my NATO experiments, I don't think anyone has ever commented on a watch I have on my wrist, unless I discussed it with them (I.e. ADs once I have taken the watch off.

Nick I think your collection is therefore as poor as mine. :)

Mind you I expect there maybe someone along later on who will explain how many young women comment on his C5S Purple LE at breakfast!

Without a doubt, my most noticed and commented watch is my Eone Bradley. It's understandable why it garners so much attention. Most folks have never seen anything like it:

This ...

Gets commented on pretty frequently (steady with any responses :D ).
Usually strikes up a brief "conversation" about watches after which they generally walk off within 30s of me boring them to death

Beautiful watch. I owned one for a few days but ended up returning it. I just didn't love it and couldn't justify the cost for something that would most likely sit in my watch box.

I would have to agree with you. My C11 gets many comments from a wide variety of people. While my C60 do Garner a few comments. I think when people see it they think "oh it's a dive watch, ive seen those 1000 times before" but the C11 stands out as something different.
