Scandinavian Crime Series
Re: Scandinavian Crime Series
You should check out Johan Falk if you can find it with english subs, scooter. Swedish crime series set to Gothenburg. Johan Falk himself is played by Jakob Eklund who is mediocre at best, but the other main character, Frank Wagner, is portrayed brilliantly(!) by Joel Kinnaman. The storyline in most of the episodes are very good, and Frank Wagner is based on a real person, which makes it even more interesting imo

Re: Scandinavian Crime Series
Many thanks for that.
I'll give it a search later today and see what I can find.

Re: Scandinavian Crime Series
Bit of thread resurrection, as opposed to starting a new one, . . . .
. . . . saw a trailer on BBC2 last night for a new series #4 of 'The Bridge' starting on Friday 11th May @ 21:00hrs.
Might try watching it.
Previous three series are available on my SKY box to watch/download.

Re: Scandinavian Crime Series
The Bridge is brilliant and am looking forward to Series 4.
I'm currently watching Flight HS13 and Rough Justice having binged on 13 Commandments, Thicker Than Water Series 2 and Rebecka Martinsson.
I love 'em.

Re: Scandinavian Crime Series
I've not seen this thread before this evening so I was reading it from the beginning and suddenly realised how old it was.
I think the 4th series of the The Bridge has already been shown on another channel but if you missed it first time then don't miss it on BBC2 and be careful about people posting spoilers, just don't read them.
To repeat some of TG3N's comments - Gomorrah is great - every series is fantastic and If you like Spiral but fancy something a bit earthier then do try to see the Braquo series from the beginning, it's a bit violent in places.
Scandi series - Jordskott and Angelby - both a bit strange and slightly supernatural or away with the pixies.
Best most recent though was the German series Babylon Berlin which I think is due a second series later this year/early 2019. Very "Cabaret-ish" era wise so great music, with the early days of the rise of fascism in 1930s Germany bubbling away in the background.
