A poll - what should be the basis of our LE?

Post by Hans »

Yes, the rumors are true

For the second time in the history of this forum Christopher Ward has agreed to make a Limited Edition CW especially for our forum-members.

Your forum-moderators (Kip, Joe and Hans) have formed the "Forum LE 2009" commission. Together with Chris and our forum-members the commission will try to design the perfect Limited Edition for 2009.

As with the previous LE, the input of our forum-members is very important! So why not start the discussion with a little poll, just to get a first impression what you would like to be the basis of the LE.

You can find the poll over here: http://poll.christopherwardforum.com

To make it a little bit more difficult for spammers you have to enter a secret poll-code, otherwise your vote won't count. This poll-code will be sent to you by PM (Private Message) a.s.a.p.!

Poll will close on November 20th

Hurrah! PM received and vote cast! Are we allowed to discuss what we voted for and perhaps our reasons?

Not being here when the last LE Forum was voted for it would be interesting to hear what the experienced members think would be a winning combination and just what we can request instead of just seeing the result of the poll at the end of voting e.g. can you specify a valjoux or is this just not going to happen due to cost? Can you vote for a C7 auto with a bright white face and steel strap?

This poll is just to get a first impression of interest. There are so many possibilities... With the results of the poll, and the feedback we get from all discussions, probably 3 or 4 candidates will be selected, and we will vote again on those candidates...

Cool... well... I voted for an automatic C1 with a show back. For me, the C1 really does sum up what Chris Ward is about (I know it's an homage, but even so) and I'd love to see an automatic version.

I bet the C8 will be quite popular as a candidate but I lot of other watch makers already make similar models, the C1 however, is... well... it's just very Chris Ward! :)

If it is not possible to have a ‘Woody’ dial as per Mr. Terminator’s design then the white version would suit me.
:)
How about this Daz...just something to ponder.

C2 case in Gold or Rose gold with a C1 looking brown, black or creme dial with roman numerals with either a sub seconds or a day/date. I don't think there is a movement to do both. Let it have gold numerals and deeply blued hands. Add to that an exhibiton back with a decorated manual or automatic movement.

Kick that around a bit.

Hi Daz,

I was thinking about the "woody" and I am begining to like this idea with the C2. We will just have to wait and see what others come up with.

I went for a C1 with a hand wound movement and a display back which imho it should have been in the first place.

A C7 with a 7750 was a close second but i think that's coming anyway one day

The C15 for its elegance. And in the originally devised dimensions (not 39 square but 36x34 if I recall correctly).
