Quite a long time to be at "inward office of exchange" though - fingers crossed.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

Well S & K watchparts are top of my 'realy crap customer service' list!
Emailed them last Tuesday and Wednesday got a reply on Thursday saying they would look into it. Emailed them again Monday and wednesday this week. No reply.

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that the case will not turn up and I'll have to pursue my money!

Might have to go for a C40 with 20% discount instead. :?

That's a pain when these companies are not helpful, but it'd be a pity to see the project stall so soon....

Mind you, the C40-20% plan is a good one! :D

Well we might be back on! After resorting to the resolution centre in paypal I've had word that a replacement is going to be sent on Monday next week (he's away this week), fingers crossed! :)

Hello, I missed all this, sorry. I've used SK-watchparts for 2 projects and despite not great comms I've been delighted with the quality. My chrono case from them is definitely the best case I have bought from anywhere and the finished article is weighty and solid. I'm sure it will all be worth the wait.

One tip on the small hands (and ignore me if you know this) you can use some rodico to help line up the hands - even rodico on a bit of peg wood. Pick up the hands with the rodico and position them straight that way. Works a treat and I wish someone had mentioned it to me! & no coffee! Take your time on hand setting to get it right.

Good luck with it and keep us posted.

Sorry no update!!

Had a small issue with my car over the last few weeks (little old lady turned in front of me while I was doing 50mph) while on my hols in York, so been a bit pre-occupied trying to replace it :( . Got the best courtesy car in the world to tow the caravan back...landy disco 3ltr 10 reg with 60miles on the clock...sweet :D .

Paypal finally closed the dispute this weekend. As SK watches had proof of postage I don't get my money back!! Suddenly he has started dialog but is suggesting I pay for more postage or something :o (his English is as bad as my German).

So it looks like I'll be pursuing a claim through the credit card! :?

If I get the money back it'll be swallowed by the now large hole in the finances caused by the new car, if I get any more from the insurance I'll possibly try again. 8)

Life isn't simple is it?
Good that you got to play with the Landy though

should he not be able to claim on the insurance through the postal company and that should also include a refund on his postage cost so neither he nor you loose out? It has tracking that clearly shows its never arrived so I would have thought thats a simple process.

Got a bit more clarity.

To send the package again, this time recorded and tracked, will cost me 12 euro (23 total but I've paid 11 already intially) this is frustrating but at least I'll get what I set out to get, if I go for a refund I'm without the case and will have to start again!.

This was my pride and joy!

update...finally....

The case has been resent.

I've also just got a great deal (I hope) on a movement on Ebay that should also be with me this week.

As soon as I get the bits I'll start a new thread, this one is getting a bit long.
