£1000 starting price for a Christopher Ward quartz?! Just because it has a bit of scrap metal in it. No thanks

A COSC quartz Breitling is 2 grand.

And they don't even have any random metal in them.

It's the scrap metal bit that I don't get - how can it push the list price up so much over the regular CW COSC quartz (which I think are great watches btw, I've bought 2 C70's myself for my brother and they are fantastic). I could understand a few hundred quid, but when you take into account a brand new C7 Rapide Chrono COSC on bracelet is only £860 (without a voucher) I just think its a no brainer. Only my opinion though

I must admit to not being a fan of LEs in general (end of model cars with jazzy paint and different wheels come to mind) unless there are specific technical improvements, eg COSC indicating better regulation capabillity. Of course sometimes LEs can really resonate in design terms, but in general I don't like Marketing Department derived LEs.
