C9 Jumping Hour MKIII : 40 or 43mm ? (finaly 43 !)
C9 Jumping Hour MKIII : 40 or 43mm ? (finaly 43 !)
Hello,
My wrist is 18.6cm. According to you, for a "C9 Jumping Hour MKIII", is it better a 40mm or a 43mm?
If you have pictures of both models for a wrist similar to mine, I'm taker.

40mm on a 7.25" wrist, however my wrist is pretty flat at 2.65" wide. Ended up selling it, not because the diameter was too small but because I felt the watch was tall for 40mm. That ratio bugged me. Beautiful watch though and you're sure to love it.

Definitely 40mm. IMHO you need a wrist size well over 8" to get away with a 43mm dress watch with minimal bezel.

Not sure you need that big a wrist IMHO..
Mine is well under 8" and a 43mm looks damn fine on me

Thank's for the photos.
With almost the same wrist as srs1286, I would have left on a 43mm. Certainly due to the 47mm of my current Casio Edifice^^ I'll take a picture of my Casio on my wrist.
In the end, the 40mm seems to suffice...

It's all subjective, of course, and in the eye of the beholder. As long as an owner is happy with how their watch looks on their wrist, then that's all that matters.Vansflyer wrote:Not sure you need that big a wrist IMHO..

For my personal tastes, if that was my 8" wrist then I would think that the dial is taking up too much of the top of my wrist for a dress watch. That's why my dressyish watches are all in the 36-38mm range for my 7.5" wrist, but I accept that some others would find them too small.
For a diver or aviator watch 43mm would probably be ok. But, if you're happy, that's all that matters - I'm not trying cause offence. Just illustrating how everyone has different opinions and tastes.

Na bother I get what you were saying. I guess it depends on the shape of your wrist and the size of the rest of of you I am not "small" so it all looks ok.. so my Mrs says.welshlad wrote:It's all subjective, of course, and in the eye of the beholder. Once it's worn with a shirt the 43 seems to shrink a bit and look just right. As you said as long as you are happy it's fine.
Cheers

Based on that photo, I would say 43mm is the way to go.

I know, generally speaking, it's the opinion of the buyer that takes precedence. The C9 JH MKIII is out of stock (no longer ?) apparently so if I find it on occasion, I must not be mistaken.

Hmm I liked 40 mm better but I'm most likely biased as I prefer smaller watches

I would hope that's a 43, that or you have failed to operate a tape measure when measuring your wrist... Wouldn't want it any bigger but that looks good to me
Where did you find it?
