Watch Stolen in Berlin
Watch Stolen in Berlin
Hi,
I was relieved of my beloved C6 Kingfisher, which Ash (Crag145) converted to automatic for me, by a pickpocket in Berlin this weekend.
Absolutely gutted.
It is not worth much in monetary value but it is my watch and unique.
Were do such stolen items end up? Pawn shops?
I didn't report it to the police. Can't see there being much point.
I know the odds are slim to none but if anyone ever comes across a black-dial C6 with a white-on-black date-wheel being sold please let me know. It will definitely be mine because it is the only one like it on the planet.
And I will gladly buy it back.
(There is an image below - I cannot for the life of me figure out this photobucket stuff)

Gutted for you especially as it's essentially a one off watch
No harm informing CW of the serial number etc and that photo just in case it turns up for a service or work of any kind.

You should've still reported it. Then you get a crime report number. Then if it turns up, then the police can find you.
It may turn up if police raid any premises and stolen goods of any kind are found.

There's always the possibility it will turn up For Sale on an Internet sales platform; ebay perhaps.

^^^ this - small effort, may come to nothing, but you can flag it up in other places like eBay if it happens to appear...Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:There's always the possibility it will turn up For Sale on an Internet sales platform; ebay perhaps.

Re: Watch Stolen in Berlin
That's a bummer, sorry to read your misfortune.
The others have given good advice and you'd be as well reporting the theft to all those parties.
Maybe you'll get lucky that someone on the forum will spot your watch online, there aren't that many platforms that CW's are found on normally.

Re: Watch Stolen in Berlin
Greetings,
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Frustrating and annoying.
Where were you?
There is a point in reporting this as others have said.
At least, if only to claim back on your insurance.
I realise your C6 was a one-off, the sales corner does throw up C6's from time to time.

Re: Watch Stolen in Berlin
I am sorry to hear of your experience OP. It must have shaken you. I doubt it will turn up anytime soon but will keep an eye on ebay listings.
Re: Watch Stolen in Berlin
Thanks for the advice all. I did report it to the 'Online Police Station" yesterday. I also sent a mail and the photo above to every single pawn broker I could find in Berlin, but likely it'll end up on a market stall.
And someone will pick it up for 10 bucks with no idea of the work that was put into the watch.
It was taken from my wrist just outside The Chalet in Kreuzberg.
Was doing a weekend with a couple of good mates and I had had enough so left on my own around 5am. Of course, i was well on at this point.
Outside there was the usual crowd of dogies and dealers. The worst is knew exactly what was going down but I was focused on my wallet and phone.
Maybe it was just the good mood I was in or maybe I was feeling clever thinking "you ain't getting nothing from me" but I should've pushed the dude away, been more agressive.
Never figured on my watch getting taken. The NATO strap isn't the most secure, tbh.
I didn't even realise until I woke the next morning which is odd because I always remove my watch before bed even if I'm wrecked.
Stupid really, Berlin is a good safe city but pickpockets are everywhere and I could've stuck any of several, cheap, replaceable Seiko 5s on thaqt strap for the weekend. But I didn't.
**** happens but I'd planned on giving that watch to my son etc etc.
So, fairly gutted.
Yep, praying it turns up on ebay one day...

Gutted for you.
Many of us will know the attachment we sometimes develop for "my one watch, MY watch" but actually being parted from that watch? Horrible.
We're all wishing a miracle for you.
