To be honest, until I ventured onto this thread, I hadn't noticed which way my decorated watch case backs were oriented. I idmired them all (4 I think) when they first arrived but haven't given them a thought since. That is, until now! Arhhhhh. Gotta go and check now. :shock
Well, one out of four is ok but the other three are off!

Not really. I couldn't care less. I wear them dial side up so that I can tell the time!Psalty wrote:Thermexman wrote: Well, one out of four is ok but the other three are off!

Re: Thr back of my new C-60 Pro?
Just checked my other 3.TheBeatles wrote:My black/white 600 Pro, wearing today, has the Trident perfectly lined up on the 12/6 axis.
Have to check my other 600s later.
I have 2 showing the tip of the trident at 2 o'clock and the other at 5 o'clock.
Before this thread I had never even thought about it and I can be anal and OCD with the best, but this genuinely doesn't bother me.

Re: Thr back of my new C-60 Pro?
The back of any watch provides a "tactile" surface that should be exploited by the manufacturer and around it there is the ideal place to print data that's not too "orientation" specific. This graphic doesn't have a natural orientation and adds strongly to the theme (appeal) with few negatives.
The trident symbol is (nicely) heavily embossed on the centre of the back, complements the trident on the second hand, which is is the watch's "signature" and so obviates the need for "Trident Pro" on the dial. If the back was blank (or brushed) this space might put off some buyers who might be expecting to see "something". It works for me.

Definitely a design choice. Don't mind it myself as it's deliberate.

After pondering this further, I certainly agree that in the grand scheme of things the orientation of the case back isn't a huge deal; but when everything else about the product is (rightfully) meant (and marketed) to exude precision craftsmanship and attention to detail, this just seems to be a missed opportunity.

However cost vs kudos seems heavily weighted in favour of cost...BadClams wrote:... but when everything else about the product is (rightfully) meant (and marketed) to exude precision craftsmanship and attention to detail, this just seems to be a missed opportunity.

Just checked a couple of mine. Two different positions for the Trident; I did notice before, but I am firmly in the "it doesn't matter" camp if it keeps the cost down.

Checking photos on the website, most backs are oriented solidly toward 10:30.

Re: Thr back of my new C-60 Pro?
The case back on my GMT has the tip of the trident pointing exactly at 6 o'clock so exactly opposite direction to the dial but i have no problem with that.
