Shoreditch would be ideal for the hipsters.

Maidenhead is a round trip of 200 miles and roughly 4 hours away there and back for me.

I'm pretty sure that it would be quicker to get there from London.

I'm not complaining though as who in their right mind would trade off being able to return their watch under 60/60 as opposed to paying what I would imagine would be a huge price rise if relocated from Maidenhead.

I think this has moved off topic into geography / train-spotting!

CW will continue to grow somewhat though the internet only model, despite it being 'the way things are going' will ultimately restrict movement 'up-market'.

In the next 5-10 years it will be sold and subsumed into a bigger existing company who will use the branding in much the same way as Swatch and simply apply it to a market segment of it's existing range.

I have to admit, walking up to the showroom was kinda interesting and not what I expected at all. Appeared to be a large house that was turned into their headquarters & showroom. The staff was very helpful and Declan (maybe spelled wrong) did not mind the time I spent looking and asking questions. He even showed me watches that were going to be released soon. I also had to make an appointment to go to the showroom. That being said, walking into an AD or storefront closer to South Kensington (where I stayed) would have been greatly appreciated.
Did you see the new logo Slimline Square and the C65 Classic and Vintage models?

I don't consider CW a micro brand. The reason? They have a full range of watches covering dress, diver, pilot, sport, chronos running between five and eight model lines at any one time (fully differentiated models, not just individual model variations such as dial colour). They also have their own movements - which are genuinely their own, not just a clone of an ETA 2824.

They may be only a small relatively brand, one that has yet to build up the cachet of the older established name brands, but micro brand? Not in my mind at any rate. They've also been around long enough to have established themselves and long enough that their warranty is a thing of value, rather than "well if they're still in business, maybe I can get it fixed". :)

Not too surprising I guess, people have wildly different opinions on all sorts of things (even actually important ones, not just on watches  ), this is just one more example.

If that's a reasonably accurate number I wouldn't consider CW a micro brand at all.

i think people often confuse "lesser known" or "not major" with "micro."

halios, helson, magrette, these are micro brands. a handful of watches at any one time, mostly driven by 1-2 people.
the "g" is for Greg...

The number produced, the diversity in the range dont fit a mirco brand for me.
