C60 Bronze?
Re: C60 Bronze?
Thanks all. Interesting re the hand winding and Glad mine's not kaputt. C. Ward: it might be a plan to note this in the excellent user guide/brochure. Also the typical number of winds to full so as not to waste time winding on to no avail.

Re: C60 Bronze?
Came across the Mühle- Glashütte Bronze while in Dresden considering it's quite a bit more I would argue the packaging of the bronze is not that much more than the trident
Thought you all may want to see given the recent trident release

C'mon, that wooden box with chrome hinges must cost an arm and a leg or are you merely referring to the plastic wrap around the watch?Savagemouse wrote:Came across the Mühle- Glashütte Bronze while in Dresden considering it's quite a bit more I would argue the packaging of the bronze is not that much more than the trident . . . .

I haven't seen the new CW packaging, but the Muhle Glashutte box is absolutely miles ahead of the existing CW one.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:C'mon, that wooden box with chrome hinges must cost an arm and a leg or are you merely referring to the plastic wrap around the watch?Savagemouse wrote:Came across the Mühle- Glashütte Bronze while in Dresden considering it's quite a bit more I would argue the packaging of the bronze is not that much more than the trident . . . .

Re: C60 Bronze?
If it helps, I've had a couple of Armidas and neither in my purchases pre-owned or my subsequent sales was there any hint of "don't like your patina". That said I think the Armida case design compared to the C60 case is closer to the steam punk school of design so lends itself very nicely to patination.DISJT wrote:I'm not sure I'd be so concerned with re sale value.
I've never owned anything bronze but have read numerous times that the patina is very easy to clean off and the bronze will look like new again.
So whilst the patina seems to be desirable, if a second owner doesn't like the thought of someone else's sweaty hue, they can start the process again after a quick buff and polish.
(Truth is I'm holding off committing to the C60 bronze 'cos I'm not yet convinced that it works for me. I need to see more "owner on wrist" shots I think.)

I was purely commenting with regards to the box, not what is in it.skimrok wrote:Over £2k for Mühle- Glashütte Bronze and CW bronze £795

Owning both MG and CW, I can also confirm that the MG is ahead of CW in the quality/feel stakes too. (However it is much closer that the prices would suggest!!!)

I really need to make myself clearer. I meant the plastic wrap of the watch itself.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:C'mon, that wooden box with chrome hinges must cost an arm and a leg or are you merely referring to the plastic wrap around the watch?Savagemouse wrote:Came across the Mühle- Glashütte Bronze while in Dresden considering it's quite a bit more I would argue the packaging of the bronze is not that much more than the trident . . . .

The box is very nice and much better in my opinion. So are the straps for that matter

I envisaged vacuum packed watch heads.
Apparently a sliver of plastic over the top is enough!

Thanks for sorting the photos MiniMpi. Update - it's looking like the Bronze is gaining c. 80 seconds in 24 hours so unless I'm doing something wrong (like what?!) it's going back.

Re: C60 Bronze?
No problem
It sounds like it's magnetised, worth checking a compass over it.
If it is, then it's a quick fix by yourself with a de-magnetiser or a local jeweller.

Re: C60 Bronze?
Received today. Strap could have been a bit more vintage. Otherwise very nice. Especially considering the price on 31. October;)
